This paper presents a general review of factors influencing the bonding of wood, testing of wood adhesives, measurement of wood surface characteristics and assessment of performance of bonded wood products. It also includes some of the test evaluation methods established at Timber Research and Technical Training Centre for conducting quality assurance of end product in compliance with the Japanese Agricultural Standard (JAS) and Japanese Industrial standard (JIS).
