INTRODUCTION
Malaysian Forestry Conference is held once every three years with Forest Department Sabah, Sarawak and Semenanjung Malaysia taking turn becoming the host.
The conference is viewed as a platform for officers from the three States to exchange views,
information and experiences in matters pertaining to administration, management, planning and forest development in the country.
The objectives of the conference are :-
a. To discuss and overcome problems collectively with regards to all aspects of management and development of forest.
b. To coordinate the planned management and the usage of forest resources effectively towards the development of the country.
c. To coordinate research and the usage of the best techniques in all aspects of forest operations and utilisation of forest products.
d. To establish closer cooperation and understanding among the officers from Semenanjung Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak.
e. To instill and create awareness among the public through publicity and education with regards to the importance of forestry in the development of the socio-economy in the country.
