Park Planning & Development
The roles & functions of the Park Planning and Development Branch are:
- To plan and develop all areas under the Park System in line
with the concept of the 'Multiple Use of Forest' as
embodied in the State Forest Policy;
- To act as the co-ordination body for the preparation and
formulation of Management Plans, in collaboration with the other branches;
- To administer and manage a park planning system through the
preparation, revision and refinement of park master plans, including
development, site and landscape plans, for approval and implementation
by the branch;
- To monitor the implementation of prescriptions and guidelines as
contained in the various park plans;
- To undertake resource inventory surveys for purposes of building
and maintaining a database that are necessary for the planning of parks
and other recreation areas;
- To undertake site evaluation and design feasibility studies
prior to project implementation; and
- To continously identfiy and assess areas in the State with
potential to be gazetted and developed as part of the State's
Park System.
