National Park
Four national parks
were newly gazetted since January 2000. These are Bukit Tiban National
Park , Maludam National Park , Rajang Mangroves National Park and the latest
one, Gunung Buda National Park , in 2001.
Wildlife Sanctuary
One wildlife sanctuary
was constituted in 2000. This is the 678 ha Sibuti Bird Sanctuary in Miri
on 3 August 2000.
Nature Reserve
There were 4 nature
reserves newly gazetted in 2000. These are Sama Jaya, Semenggoh, Bukit
Sembiling and Bukit Hitam.
