FORESTRY NIGHT

The Forestry night was held on 12 January 2002 at Parkcity Beverly Hotel, Bintulu to appreciate those who have shown excellent services and those who were awarded the State's "Pingat Kebesaran Negeri" and "Pingat Perkhidmatan Setia".

About 22 staff were awarded diagonal assessment, 45 staff received vertical and 38 staff were assessed static for the Year 2000 assessment. During the function, 10 staff and 89 staff were recognized for having been awarded the State's "Pingat Kebesaran Negeri" and "Pingat Perkhidmatan Setia" respectively.

The Director of Forests, Sarawak, Cheong Ek Choon, urged the staff to work as a team and advised them to cooperate with each other irrespective of background. He stressed that they must be loyal to the Department and the State Government at all times.

On the current achievement, he was happy to note that the Department had done well in terms of enforcement and certification of processes under ISO 9000. He thanked the staff involved.

Earlier, Regional Forest Officer, Said bin Gapar, thanked the organizing committee for making the function successful.

More than 300 staff attended the function. Also present were Deputy Director, Dr. Lee Hua Seng, Senior Assistant Directors, Regional Forest Officers and staff of Forest Department.
