The Forest Department, Sarawak, announced on 20 June 2001 that the implementation of the new rates for all the national parks and nature reserves in the State has been deferred until further notice. The decision to defer the implementation, which was initially planned to take effect on 1 July 2001, was made following appeals received by the Department from the tourism industry and members of the public.
